Unfortunately, without further information or details, it is difficult to determine the exact cause of the issue. However, it is recommended to try reinstalling VuePrint or contacting the software's support team for assistance.
Any chance to get .png support? It would be great!

VuePrint is no longer actively supported by its developer, so I would not expect to see any updates to natively support the png format. My work around has been to convert png files into bmp, and then work with them in vueprint.
No, there is no version of VuePrint available for Mac OS X. The problem was developed and released many years ago and there is no active development. However, you have the possibility to install Windows through Bootcamp and then you can install it. Visit the Bootcamp website and use the guide to install Windows.
Note: A Windows install disc is required to complete the main installation.
Cannot figure out what happened. It worked Feb. 16 but does not work now. I cannot see where I was charged for the software. I am under the impression I purchased it and it was not the free sample.

I have checked the Changelog of the software, and it's specified that the software is working just fine on El Capitan. I recommend re-downloading the software on your Mac using the link posted below.
